ICRC helps victims of double terror act in Makhachkala
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has helped two hospitals in Makhachkala, where the patients wounded at the double terror act take their treatment. We also know that two especially grave patients have been sent today from Dagestan into one of Moscow clinics by a special aircraft.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed today by Olga Berezueva, the ICRC representative in Dagestan, that the Committee has delivered kits of drugs and materials for emergency medical help to the victims of two explosions that occurred at night on May 3 to the City Municipal Hospital No. 1 of Makhachkala and the Republic's Traumatic-Orthopaedic Centre.
"In the event of such emergencies, the stock of medical supplies needed to provide fast help to victims is of paramount importance," said Magomed Omarov, the chief physician of the above Centre.
The local Ministry of Public Health said that today two patients in grave condition were delivered by a special aircraft from Makhachkala to Moscow; however, their names were not disclosed.
According to a source from the blood transfusion station in Makhachkala, as of 6:00 p.m., the station was attended by over 200 people; yesterday there were 246 blood donors, including students, government officials, athletes, and so on.
