Russian Labour March failed in Stavropol

In Stavropol, law enforcers made every effort not to admit an unsanctioned rally of Russian nationalists named "Russian Labour March" under the slogan "For Russian Caucasus!"

The action, organized by the "Union of Stavropol Slavs", was to begin in General Ermolov Square. In the social network "VKontakte", more than 1,200 persons signed to take part in it.

The organizers of the march did not submit any notification to the administration of Stavropol, as the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by a source from one of special services of the Stavropol Territory, who preferred to remain anonymous. Accordingly, law enforcers had been instructed by all means to prevent the march.

At about 1:00 p.m., when the march was scheduled to start, policemen were lined up along the perimeter of General Ermolov Square (near the territorial circus). In total, there were twenty policemen and security officers in plain clothes in the square. A group of policemen blocked the exit from the square to General Ermolov Boulevard, where the march should have moved according to organizers' plans.

Young people - potential participants of the action - were coming to the square well in advance. They were about 80 in number, about ten girls among them. They had folded imperial (black, white and yellow) and today's Russian tricolour flags in their hands.

There were no conflicts between those who came to the unsanctioned march and power agents. After about half an hour young people began dispersing, most of them went to the nearby bus stops. However, a group of young people (about 15 persons) unfolded the Russian state flag and loudly chanting "Glory to Russia!" and "For Russian Caucasus!" turned into Gorky Street, which is parallel to Ermolov Avenue. There, they disappeared amidst the crowd.
