In Sochi, residents of Gagarin Street demand immediate actions to save their house
The meeting of tenants of No. 66 in Gagarin Street of Sochi has stated that their house is collapsing because of the construction of the road parallel to Kurortny Avenue. The tenants threaten to block the highway, should the authorities fail to take immediate measures.
Alexei Baranov, the house chairman, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the meeting was caused by the emergency situation around their house due to the construction of the backup road in Tchaikovsky Street and road junction "Gagarin-Donskaya Streets".
"The backup road is built 5 meters from the walls of our house. They cut down the whole sanitary protection zone in Tchaikovsky Street, which protected tenants from dust and dirt of the commodity yard and the railway," - said Alexei Baranov.
"Children cannot sleep; they're crying all the time. We all get up in bad moods every morning because of noise day and night. We are afraid to stay homeless because our house can collapse; there are cracks already in many flats," said the house chairman.
"We were totally against this road from the very beginning, but nobody listened to us; they didn't even offer relocation to a safer place," said Alexei Baranov.
The tenants also complain about the noise from the construction site. The life in the house is not only intolerable, but hazardous for human health, local residents assert.
"If they don't stop permanent outages of water, electricity, and night noise, we'll block the traffic in Gagarin Street," said the tenants.
