Makhachkala court fines editor-in-chief of "Nastoyascheye Vremya" by 10,000 roubles

Today, the Kirov Court of Makhachkala has found Milrad Fatulaev, editor-in-chief of the "Nastoyascheye Vremya" (Present Time) weekly guilty of non-taking measures to prevent defamation of the President of Dagestan and fined him by 10,000 roubles.

The court dismissed Milrad Fatulaev's petition to transfer the case to Moscow - his place of residence, found him guilty and imposed the fine, the editor-in-chief himself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

It should be noted that the court did not allow reporters to attend the trial and forbade audio and video recording.

Milrad Fatulaev plans to appeal the decision of the Kirov Court of Makhachkala at the higher instance.
