Figurant in case of terror act in Vladikavkaz marketplace sentenced to 24 years in prison
The Supreme Court of North Ossetia has sentenced Islam Khashagulgov, accused of committing the terror act in the marketplace of Vladikavkaz on September 9, 2010, to 24 years of imprisonment.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 9, 2010, a bomb was triggered at the entrance to the central marketplace of Vladikavkaz and killed 19 people, including the supposed suicide bomber.
The court has sentenced Islam Khashagulgov to 24 years of high security colony, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation.
The investigation and the court have found that no later than February 2010 the convict voluntarily joined a stable armed organized grouping and took part on September 9, 2010, in the above terror act at the central marketplace of Vladikavkaz.
Apart from the main prison term, Khashagulgov will be restricted in his freedom for additional two years and will have to pay a fine of 150,000 roubles, the "Interfax" reports.
Islam Khashagulgov's term is counted from the date of his detention on October 8, 2010.
