In Abkhazia, Almasbey Kchach, ex-Interior Minister, commits suicide
Almasbey Kchach shot himself dead when law enforcers tried to detain him.
According to the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Abkhazia, investigators have proofs of Kchach's involvement in organizing an attempt on the life of President of Abkhazia Alexander Ankvab.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the attempt on Ankvab, the sixth in a row, was undertaken on February 22 near the township Druzhba, Gudauta District. The President did not suffer; however, two of his bodyguards - Remzik Tsugba and Tengiz Pandariya - died from received wounds. The suspects of the attempt were detained on April 12.
"Today, operative units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the State Security Service were engaged, together with employees of the GPO of Abkhazia, in detaining Almasbey Kchach," the GPO's press service reports.
Almasbey Kchach's body was found in Gagra, in an apartment at No. 63 in Abazgaa Street. The suicide had a Margolin pistol in his hand. "The examination of the body revealed the inlet bullet hole in the right temple and the outlet hole above the left ear, caused by the firearm," the GPO reports.
Let us remind you that that on April 14 the court decided to arrest the suspects of committing the attempt - Anzor Butba, Alkhas Khutaba, Timur Khutaba and Ramzi Khashig.
