Coordinator of "Left-Wing Front" quits solidarity action with Astrakhan hunger-strikers
Coordinator of the "Left-Wing Front" Sergey Udaltsov said that he would temporarily suspend his hunger strike held in solidarity with oppositionists in Astrakhan, who failed to admit the outcomes of the election of the Mayor of Astrakhan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 9 Sergey Udaltsov stated a start of his hunger strike in solidarity with Oleg Shein, an ex-candidate for Mayor of Astrakhan, who had been holding his hunger strike from March 15 in protest against the results of municipal elections on March 4, in which, according to official data, Mikhail Stolyarov was the winner.
"I feel a sharp pain in my stomach, apparently, a relapse of peptic ulcer. For the time being I temporarily quit the hunger strike of solidarity with Shein; I will be replaced there. Now, I go to see my doctor; maybe I'll have to go to the hospital. Still, I hope it'll be OK. Because of this, my trip to Astrakhan is under question," Mr Udaltsov wrote in his blog on the Twitter.
He said that the hunger strike in solidarity with Astrakhan was on for the tenth day; and hunger-strikers were holding on.
