In Astrakhan, drivers of fixed-route taxis plan to go to Arbitration Court against Mayoralty

The drivers who demanded from the city bosses to ensure their employment and leave their Gazel minivans in the urban transport network, have stopped their strike; they are preparing lawsuits to the Arbitration Court trying to challenge the actions of the Mayoralty, said Damir Bulatov, the vice-president of the Regional Association of Motorists (RAM).

"In the near future, the Mayoralty will, hold a broad sitting with our presence, where our problems will be made public. In this regard, many drivers of fixed-route taxi returned to work. In the morning, the taxi drivers servicing the military township were still at rally; however, now they have returned to work," said Damir Bulatov.

According to his story, all the entrepreneurs, who service many of the existing routes, received letters from the city administration that after April 13 they had no right to work.

"In our turn, we wrote a statement to the Antimonopoly Committee with indication of our claims on the fact of violations admitted at termination of contracts with entrepreneurs - drivers of fixed-route taxis. We also prepared lawsuits to the Arbitration Court of the Astrakhan Region. They will be submitted in the near future," said Damir Bulatov.
