Evgeny Pechorin, ex-head of Lermontov city administration, suspected of abuse of power
In the Stavropol Territory, Evgeny Pechorin, the ex-head of the Lermontov city administration, is suspected of incurring a loss to the local self-administration in the amount of 2,000,000 roubles. This was reported today at the press conference by Yury Turygin, Prosecutor of the Stavropol Territory.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 11, 2011, the employment contract of Evgeny Pechorin was prematurely terminated, and he filed a lawsuit to the court for re-instalment in office; however, he failed.
According to Yury Turygin, the Prosecutor's Office's inspection, conducted in the city in regard to the ex-official, resulted in initiating of the criminal case under Article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Abuse of power".
"Without conducting a tender, Pechorin concluded a municipal contract to perform works on replacement of a pipe section of the pressure collector, and by that action he incurred losses to the local self-administration in the amount of 2,000,000, roubles unlawfully allocated for performance of the works," the "Interfax" quotes Yury Turygin as saying.
