In the first quarter of 2012, Karachay-Cherkessia had no victims to armed conflict

In January, February and March 2012, in the territory of Karachay-Cherkessia, there were no victims to the ongoing North-Caucasian armed conflict. These are the results of calculations, made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

In 2011, in Karachay-Cherkessia, according to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", also based on data from its own correspondents and information from open sources, there were 34 victims, including 22 casualties and 12 wounded persons.

In 2011, the losses among members of the armed underground in the republic made 13 persons. Besides, two suspected militants were injured at detention. At least six power agents were killed, and nine more were wounded. Among the civilians of Karachay-Cherkessia, there were four victims - one person was wounded (by an explosion of a homemade bomb), and three were shot dead.

In 2010, the total number of victims of the armed conflict in Karachay-Cherkessia amounted to four persons: two casualties and two wounded persons. The death toll included a law enforcer and an alleged militant; two other power agents were wounded.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow
