New participants join political hunger strike in Astrakhan
Four new participants have joined political hunger strike in Astrakhan. Well-known blogger Alexei Navalny and physician Elizaveta Glinka also arrived to support the protesters.
On April 9, Saule Berkimbaeva, the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Predsedatel TSJ" arrived from Moscow to take part in the protest action. "The matter is not with Shein himself. Today, Shein and his followers fight not for the position of the Mayor, but for our common right to live in a state of law," explained her decision Saule Berkimbaeva in her blog.
The number of hunger-strikers was also increased by Marina Marmilova and Zoya Vasilieva, residents of the city of Astrakhan. Sergey Silkin, who ran for deputy at the elections to the City Duma held on December 4, also joined the protest action. "I myself have been witnessed the chaos that occurred at the elections," said he.
