Residents of the settlement of Minbashi, Azerbaijan, held an action of protest
Residents of the settlement of Minbashi, Sabirabad district of Azerbaijan, recommenced their actions of protest demanding resignation of local municipality Ruhulla Godjaev and representative of executive authority of the settlement Beiler Iskanderov. They also demand release of Coordinator of the staff of civil community "Kura" Oktay Giulalyev.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that on April, 3 and 4, residents of the settlement of Minbashi held actions of protest blocking Shirvan-Sabirabad highway. They demanded fair distribution of the compensation to victims of the flood of 2010 allotted by the Government. Coordinator of the staff of civil community "Kura" Oktay Giulalyev who arrived in the settlement was detained on April, 8, during his meeting with local residents and on April, 9, sentenced to 12 days of administrative arrest.
After that an action of protest recommenced in the settlement. The residents came out to the office of the Administration with a poster: "Ilham Aliev, set us free from these officials!".
Deputy Head of executive authority and Chief of the district police came to a meeting with the villagers. However, about 150 participants of the action refused to talk to them expressing readiness to meet only with Head of the district Nazim Ismailov himself, "Contact online news" reports.
