Pickets against stealing of election passed off in Astrakhan
On April, 5, Salavat Zhamankulov, participant of a political hunger strike going on in Astrakhan, and Vasily Vorokh supporting the protesters picketed schools No 11 and No 14 where persons who, in their opinion, took part in stealing of the election worked.
Yesterday Zinaida Anisenko aged 76, mother of one of the strikers and participants of picketing the schools Mikhail Anisenko who has been on the hunger strike since March, 21, joined the action. She took the place of Igor Astafiev who decided to leave the hunger strike. “I cannot stay at home while people are standing up for their rights, that is why I decided to support my son”, the woman explained.
Presently Oleg Sheiyn returned from Moscow where on April, 5, he took part in an enlarged session of the Council of Chamber of deputies of “Fair Russia” party, without leaving the hunger strike.
Sheiyn declared that he and his colleagues hoped for support of the public at large, including his fellow party members.
“There may be various forms of support. In particular, on Saturday (April, 7 – Note by the “Caucasian Knot”) we are planning a rally. I hope very much that some of the deputies of State Duma will be able to come to Astrakhan to help us avoid problems with the police”, Oleg Sheiyn said.
He also expressed a hope that beside the tide of protest “rising all over the country”, the action would have a broader support in the blogosphere, a message on the web-site of “Fair Russia” runs.
At present the hunger strike is going on. There are 6 protesters who have been on the hunger strike since the first day, including Oleg Sheiyn: Elena Grebeniuk, Svetlana Lezhneva, Khamza Ismuhanov and Dmitry Volkov. The total number of strikers makes 22 at the moment.
