The Labourites of Georgia held an action “Red light to Saakashvili”
The Labour party of Georgia held an action of protest against falsification of the parliamentary election in October, 2012, under the slogan “Red light to Saakashvili”.
All the participants held a red booklet in their hands. They explained that in this way they were showing the “red card” to the present authorities of Georgia, ITRC “Mir” reports.
Members of the Labour party are afraid of forging the results of voting at the forthcoming election. “This forgery is planned in the Georgian Parliament under Saakashvili’s guidance. We want to establish a precedent of independent Georgia, a nonviolent change of power at least once”, General Secretary of the Labour party of Georgia Soso Shatberashvili emphasized.
Leader on the Labourites Shalva Natelashvili considers that amendments to the Electoral Code of Georgia are necessary, “Novosti-Georgia” reports.
“The Labourites will officially offer this initiative to the Parliament already tomorrow”, Natelashvili assured the participants of the meeting.
Representatives of oppositional party “Free Georgia” headed by its leader Kaha Kukava, several non-governmental organizations and human rights activists joined the Labourites’ action in Rustaveli prospect.
