Power agents detain resident of Nalchik, who leased his house to Alim Zankishiev
As reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies of Kabardino-Balkaria, in Nalchik law enforcers have detained an accomplice of Alim Zankishiev, the leader of Kabardino-Balkarian militants who was killed today in a special operation.
The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced this morning in central Nalchik in connection with the special operation. After its completion, a burnt body was found in a private house. Later the casualty was identified as the leader of Kabardino-Balkarian militants Alim Zankishiev. At 1:00 p.m. Moscow time, the CTO regime in Nalchik was cancelled.
In the house, where Zankishiev was hiding, law enforcers found two pistols; one of them was foreign-made, rounds and grenades.
"On Tuesday, Zankishiev's accomplice was also detained – a 27-year-old resident of Nalchik, who had lend his house to the militants' leader, where the latter was blocked," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the source from the law enforcement bodies of Kabardino-Balkaria.
As explained by the "Russian News Service", the owner of the household, where Zankishiev was hiding, he voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.
The position of the detainee or his relatives with respect to law enforcers' statements is not yet known.
