Suspect of killing Aslan Zhukov acquitted in Karachay-Cherkessia
The City Court of Cherkessk has acquitted Rasul Adjiev, 35, who was accused of murdering one of the activists of the youth movement "Adyge-Khase" Aslan Zhukov, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a source from the City Court.
Aslan Zhukov was shot dead on March 14, 2010, in Cherkessk at his own car wash facility. According to investigators, Adjiev killed Zhukov out of jealousy.
On March 26, the above court considered the criminal case, found Adjiev innocence of the alleged crime and acquitted him. Now, Rasul Adjiev has the right to rehabilitation.
Besides, as reported by Alibek Botashev, the spokesman of the Supreme Court of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) , the court has issued a special court ruling addressed to the Russia's Minister of Internal Affairs and Chairman of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and indicating the violations revealed by the court of the Law of Criminal Procedure, admitted by officials of the MIA of the KChR and the Investigatory Department of the ICRF for the KChR in the course of the criminal investigation of Rasul Adjiev's criminal case.
The verdict has not yet entered its legal force and may be appealed against at the Judicial Board on Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court of the KChR within ten days from the date of its announcement.
