During the week of March 19-25, 14 persons fell victims to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
At least 14 persons suffered in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in the period of March 19-25: 9 persons were killed and 5 wounded. These are the results of calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot", based on own materials and information from other public sources.
The number of the deceased persons includes 2 law enforcement agents: one was killed in Kabardino-Balkaria, and one in Dagestan. 2 power agents were wounded, both of the m in Dagestan. At least 3 civilians were killed: 2 in Dagestan and 1 in Chechnya. 3 civilians were wounded: 2 in Ingushetia and 1 in Dagestan. At least 4 suspected members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) were killed, all of them in Dagestan.
Kidnappings and disappearances of people
In Dagestan, 2 men: Ali Zalimkhanovich Ametov and his relative Alan Arturovich Apendiev, have disappeared. This was reported on March 19 by Fatima Ametova, a resident of the village of Terekli-Mekteb of the Nogai District of Dagestan. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan states that law enforcement agents did not detained the men and that they investigate the fact described in the woman's complaint.
On March 22, in Ingushetia, Abubakar Tsechoev was kidnapped. This was reported by his brother Ibragim Tsechoev. The armed men took Abubakar away from his job at the head pumping station of the "Vodokanal".
More than a month ago, in the Novosibirsk Region, Anzor Kunashev, a 27-year-old resident of the town of Tyrnyauz of the Elbrus District, disappeared. This was reported on March 24 by his wife Zalina Etezova. She believes that her husband may appear among the suspected financiers of militants detained in early March.
Detentions
On March 16, Chechen law enforcement agents detained in the Gudermes and Urus-Martan Districts of the republic 2 local residents, who were suspected of aiding members of the armed underground.
On March 12-19, in the territory of Chechnya, in the course of the large-scale action entitled "Wanted", law enforcement agents detained 12 persons, who were put into the wanted list on suspicion of commitment of various crimes. The number of the detainees included some citizens of the CIS countries.
On March 24, in Makhachkala, Gadji Isadibirov, being blocked in an apartment of a multi-storey building, suspected of involvement into the armed underground, after negotiations surrendered under personal guarantees of Magomedsalam Magomedov, the leader of Dagestan.
On March 24, in the course of the operational search activities conducted in the suburbs of Makhachkala, police officers blocked in the house 4 unidentified persons, who surrendered to power agents after negotiations.
