In Armenia, public activists want to dismantle trade stalls in Mashtots Park

In Yerevan, a new initiative, which opposes construction in the Mashtots Park, was formed. A group of public figures expressed their support to the activists, who demand to dismantle trade stalls transferred from Abovyan Street to the park.

The initiative group has stated that "if within 12 days the Yerevan Mayoralty itself does not dismantle the trade stalls in the park, this responsibility will be taken by the team, consisting of 10 public figures." This was reported by activist Ruzanna Grigoryan.

The ecologist has also noted that the new initiative group of active public figures, whose names will be announced later, "has nothing common with the activists, and every member of the group is a well-known personality in the specific field."

Ruzanna Grigoryan has also added that the public figures had taken the responsibility to dismantle the trade stalls in the park, taking into account the decision issued on March 13 by the Independent Civil Court.

"In support of the park, the Independent Civilian Court has ruled the decision on landscaping of the park and dismantling the trade stalls illegally constructed in a public place," she has noted. "The Mayoralty is busy with improvement of the park, and the initiative of public figures took the responsibility to dismantle trade stalls."
