In Volgograd, participants of public hearings vote unanimously for return of direct election of Mayor
The city of Volgograd held public hearings on return of the direct election of Mayor. City residents, who participated in the event, voted unanimously for making appropriate changes to the city charter.
Today, in total, 133 participants registered at the public hearings held at the Conference Room of the City Duma.
The decision to return the direct election of Mayor was unanimous, and none of the voters expressed his support to the introduction of the position of City Manager in Volgograd (head of the municipal administration, who works under contract, – note of the "Caucasian Knot").
In the course of the public hearings, speakers also drew attention of the city authorities to the problems of the city, in particularly, to bad roads, and reproached the temporary city authorities of not acting.
