Over 300 families fell victim to landslides in Adzharia

Residents of several villages of the mountainous Khuloy District of Adzharia have suffered from landslides caused by melting of huge masses of snow.

According to sources from local administrations, on March 23, snow in places of the region reached the height of 2.5 meters.

Several villages have suffered – in total, more than three hundred families. Special headquarters have been set up for carrying the people from the territories affected by landslides to safe places, the PIK Channel reports.

In the village of Paksadzeebi, a soil mass went down on the road, right when children were on their way to school. By sheer luck no one was hurt. Currently, special machines of the Georgia's Highway Department are busy in the Khuloy District clearing snow and soil away, the RBC reports.
