In Krasnodar Territory, ecologist Suren Gazaryan released from custody
On March 23, at 7:00 p.m., Suren Gazaryan, the activist of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus", came out from the special detention facility of the UVD (Interior Department) of the city of Tuapse, after having been kept there for ten days.
Representatives of civil movements from Moscow, Krasnodar, Sochi, and Tuapse came to meet Suren Gazaryan. Among them there were Evgeniya Chirikova, the leader of the movement in protection of the Khimki Forest and Olga Noskovets, the member of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus". "The number of people who came to support Suren included a lot of local resident about 20 persons," stated Olga Noskovets.
Prior to the meeting, at about 3:00 p.m. Moscow time, the activists arrived at the checkpoint near the village of Bzhid of the Tuapse District of the Krasnodar Territory. According to Olga Noskovets, the road was blocked by tractors; the activists were not able to drive to the inspected object, therefore, they went on foot.
"Staff members of the private safeguarding company "Neva" refused to allow the activists to pass through the checkpoint to the sea and to the territory of the forest; at the same time, the guards refused to present any documents. We have completed acts in that regard," Evgeniya Chirikova reported in her "Twitter".
According to her statement, "the public inspection has revealed that the Prosecutor of the Krasnodar Territory is wrong: the fence of the Tkachev's summer cottage exists, and it is installed in the protected territory."
Release of Victor Dutlov from custody is expected to be on March 24 at 00:30 a.m. Moscow time.
