North Ossetia: figurant in case on terror act at Vladikavkaz marketplace will remain in custody
Today, the Supreme Court of North Ossetia chaired by Judge Stanislav Valiev extended the period in custody till August 15, 2012, to Issa Khashagulgov, suspected in the case of the terror act at the Central market in Vladikavkaz committed in September 2010.
Issa Khashagulgov was detained on October 28, 2010 on suspicion of preparing the terror act that occurred on September 9, 2010, in Vladikavkaz. He was charged under Articles "Organization of an armed formation" and "Possession of weapons". The detainee pleads not guilty.
All court sessions are held behind closed doors, without journalists and relatives. An exception was made on December 29, 2011, for Pyatimat Khashagulgova, the defendant's wife. However, today, despite her persistent requests, the woman was not allowed to enter the courtroom to attend the court session, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"The Judge motivates the today's extension of keeping in custody by the fact that the investigation into the terror act at the Central market in Vladikavkaz had been prolonged till August 15," said Batyrbek Akhilgov, the defendant's lawyer.
The lawyer has also noted that his client feels well and has no complaints about his health. "Issa Khashagulgov still does not admit his guilt," Batyrbek Akhilgov has emphasized.
