Aslan Cherkesov beaten up in an investigative isolation ward of Krasnoyarsk, his attorney reported

Last night Aslan Cherkesov who was acknowledged guilty of killing football fan Yegor Sviridov was beaten up in investigative isolation ward No 1 of Krasnoyarsk region, his attorney Igor Kuznetsov informed.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” reported that Yegor Sviridov was killed at night of December, 6, 2010. The jury unanimously acknowledged Cherkesov guilty and not recommended for mercy. On October, 28, 2011, Moscow city court sentenced Cherkesov to 20 years of custody in a strict regime colony. In January the Supreme Court of Russia reduced Cherkesov’s penalty to 19 years and 10 months of prison. Aslan Cherkesov did not acknowledge himself guilty.

“I had a meeting with my client today. He entered the meeting room limping slightly on his right leg and there were scratches on his face and neck”, Igor Kuznetsov said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

According to the lawyer, “Cehrkesov avoided a direct answer to the question about the cause of the traumas he got but wrote on a small piece of paper that at night he underwent an assault”. “Aslan Cherkesov suspects that the meeting room is stuffed with bugging devices therefore he did not wish to answer my question aloud. He also wrote on the same paper that the assault was organized with the consent of prison administration”, Kuznetsov explained.

According to the lawyer, he is going to submit complaints to the supervising Public prosecutor, Chief Directorate of Federal Penitentiary Service in Krasnoyarsk region and a statement to the department of Committee of Inquiry in Krasnoyarsk region demanding an inspection on the episode.

The convict’s mother Sonya Cherkesova also said that her son “has been carried around Krasnoyarsk region for a month and a half because it is not yet decided where he should serve his penalty term”. “He is getting threats””, Aslan Cherkesov’s mother declared.

The “Caucasian Knot” has no comments on the fact of assault at Aslan Cherkesov from representatives of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in its disposal yet.
