In Ingushetia, relatives of Leila Kholukhoeva complain about power agents' pressure
Relatives of Leila Kholukhoeva, a resident of the Nasyr-Kort District of Nazran, who had stated the persecution of her family by employees of the GOVD of Nazran and Malgobek ROVD (City and District Interior Divisions, respectively), fear for their safety. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by Ms Kholukhoeva's relatives themselves.
Earlier, Leila Kholukhoeva reported that as a result of personal animosity in her relative and neighbour Khasan Kholukhoev, her family became an object of systematic persecution by the sons of the above Khasan Kholukhoev, who work for power agencies, as well as of numerous other law enforcers, including their top bosses.
According to Leila Kholukhoeva, in 2007, Khasan was Kholukhoev began calling her son Ibragim a Wahhabi. On August 25, 2010, Ibragim was detained by employees of the Nazran GOVD on suspicion of an attempt to blow up – on August 21 of that year – the store owned by Amir Kholukhoev, Khasan's son. During the 2011 Ibragim Kholukhoev, according to his mother, was constantly tortured and beaten.
On July 14, 2011, the court found Ibragim Kholukhoev guilty of an attempt to blow up the store.
Akhmed Kotiev, Secretary of the Security Council of Ingushetia, believes that accusations against him of harassing the family of convicted Kholukhoev are unjustified, saying that he is "on the side of the truth."
"Nobody persecutes Leila Kholukhoeva; and no illegal actions were undertaken against her; on the contrary, she is spoiling the life of her neighbours-relatives; because of that the Kholukhoev cousins have suffered. They refused to evidence at the court because they are relatives; therefore, her son was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment," Akhmed Kotiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Khasan Kholukhoev was unavailable for comments.
