Activist of Kmara movement detained in Batumi

An activist of the Batumi office of the Kmara (Enough) movement, Avto Beridze, was detained by local law-enforcement agencies in Batumi on January 28. The detention was conducted not long before the action of protest which was to be held in Batumi by activists of the movement, who demand that Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze should resign.

As reported by Rustavi 2 TV Company, Kmara planned to start the protest action at 2 p.m. Ajarian law-enforcement officers took flags and transparencies from action participants and did not allow holding the action.

The Kmara office in Batumi has no information about Avto Beridze's destiny yet.
