Armenian Government prepares program of actions devoted to 90th anniversary of Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire
Actions devoted to the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire should be aimed at strengthening the country's might, preserving the Armenian Diaspora, and raising the nation's spirit.
The chairman of the state commission to arrange the actions, Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian, stated it in the course of the debates about the government's program devoted to the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The program is designed for a year: from May 2004 to May 2005.
There are plans to attach international importance to the actions, for example, by declaring the year of 2005 in Armenia to be the year of struggle against wars, expulsions and violations of the peoples' rights and by holding a scientific conference in Yerevan.
