State grants bodyguards to retired president of Armenia for life
"State bodyguards are assigned to the president of Armenia, chairman of the National Assembly and prime minister, and these officials are not entitled to reject them," reads the draft law "On Providing Security to Persons To Be Under Special Protection of the State" adopted by the National Assembly in the first reading.
According to the draft, bodyguards are also assigned to the members of the president's family living together with and accompanying him. The state grants bodyguards to the retired president for life. Heads of foreign states and governments are under special protection of the state as well while being on the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
