Two participants of action for release of political prisoners detained in Rostov-on-Don

Today, on December 30, Vladislav Makshanov, an activist of the movement "Left-Wing Front", and Sergey Rusakov, a member of the Civil Committee, were detained during the action for release of political prisoners.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the protesters in Rostov-on-Don demanded release of Sergey Udaltsov, the coordinator of the "Left-Wing Front", ecologist Yaroslav Nikitenko and Taisia Osipova, an activist of "The Other Russia"; the latter is under threat of 13 years of imprisonment.

"The action brought together about 15 persons, although around fifty had planned to come. We went out with posters, where photos of political prisoners were printed. There were about twenty policemen around us; possibly, even more," Vladislav Ryazantsev, one the organizers, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, one police officer gave an order to detain Vladislav Makshanov from the 'Left-Wing Front' and Sergey Rusakov from the Civil Committee. "They were taken to a police station; and so far, their fate is unknown," said Ryazantsev.

He added that the action was held, as planned, in the form of a flash mob. "However, the policemen asked us to move. Now, we go towards Pushkin Street. There are not only members of the 'Left-Wing Front', but also activists of other oppositional movements among the protesters. Besides, there were also members of the local branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF)," said Vladislav Ryazantsev.
