North Ossetia: detention of suspect of blowing up Vladikavkaz marketplace extended

The Supreme Court of North Ossetia, chaired by Judge Venera Daurova, extended the custody of detention of Issa Khashagulgov, a suspect in the case of the terror act at the central market in Vladikavkaz in September 2010, till March 24, 2012.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Batyrbek Akhilgov, the detainee's lawyer, the court hearing to review the custody period was appointed for January 15, 2012. "I am not aware of the reasons, why the court hearing on the case was re-scheduled," the lawyer stated.

Today, Pyatimat Khashagulgova, the defendant's wife, was allowed to attend the session of the Supreme Court. She told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the lawyer, referring to deterioration of health state of Issa Khashagulgov, had filed a motion to change the pre-trial restrictions to his client to a recognizance not to leave. The motion was dismissed.
