Novorossiysk hosts picket against election violations
In Novorossiysk, the Krasnodar Territory, participants of a picket against violations at the elections to the Russian State Duma decided to publish on the Internet all facts of manipulations at voting and non-compliance with the Law "On elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation".
On December 24, the action "In protection of citizens' constitutional rights", organized by the Novorossiysk social movement "In protection of human rights and freedoms", was also held at the embankment, near the Marine Passenger Terminal.
"The picket was aimed to draw public attention to the administration's failure to comply with Articles 31, 32, 35, 45, and 19 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which guarantee fulfilment of citizens' rights and freedoms," the organizers stated.
27 persons attended the picket. Participants of the protest action were holding posters with the slogans reading: "We want changes!", "Kuschevka is all Kuban", "Truth cannot be hided!", "Novorossiysk residents are against corruption and raiding", "Let's protect our constitutional rights", "New Year without Putin!", "Human Rights for All!", and "Down land arbitrariness"'.
The city citizens came to the picket to express their solidarity with all participants of the protests that took place on that day in the entire Russia. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent Evgeny Melgunov, the coordinator of the Novorossiysk social movement "In protection of human rights and freedoms". "We protest not for the fact that we want some political party to win. No, we protest, since our choice was stolen," he has emphasized.
"Thus, we demand: to replace all members of Territorial Election Commissions (TECs) and Precinct Election Commissions (PECs) before the election in 2012, who were caught at stealing votes at the elections held on December 4; to cancel the results of the falsified elections at the city electoral precincts, where the final protocols on the results of the elections held on December 4 had been rewritten; to dismiss Vladimir Churov, the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC), and to conduct investigation into his activities, investigation of all violations and falsifications, to punish the guilty persons," states the final document.
