Committee for clemency in Georgia suggested to amnesty 73 convicts

Committee for clemency with the President of Georgia granted the requests of 73 convicts. After the session of the Committee in the President's Palace in Tbilisi People's Defender Giorgi Tugushi said that 144 requests all in all were considered, five of them were from underage convicts.

"The Committee decided to recommend 73 convicts for amnesty. Custody term for ten of them was reduced by half, the rest will be released from custody", Giorgi Tugushi said.

According to him, "15 women and an underage girl" will be amnestied, "Georgia Online" reports.

The President will sign the requests for clemency until the New Year comes, "Trend" reports.
