Group of children from Chechnya goes to Moscow for New Year holidays
48 children from the Chechen Republic, aged 8-14, went to celebrate the New Year in the Moscow Kremlin. This was reported by the Republic's Ministry of Education and Sciences.
"On December 22, a group of our schoolchildren went to Moscow by train to participate in the Kremlin's New Year tree. The group included children from disadvantaged families, pupils from boarding schools and the best pupils," the Ministry has emphasized.
In Moscow, the Chechen children will enjoy organized tours of the historical sites of the Russian capital, and they will be able to see the sightseeing attractions of the city. The schoolchildren will return home already in 2012. Their trip was organized by the head of the administration of the leader and the government of Chechnya, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Let us remind you that orphans, schoolchildren from low-income and single parent families, the best pupils and the most talented schoolchildren from Chechnya went to the New Year party in Moscow also in previous years.
For the rest of Chechen children, near the main New Year tree of the republic, installed in front of the Grozny City Administration, 20 children's attractions will operate. Besides, starting December 25, daily costumed performances for children, performances of creative groups, various shows and other events will take place there.
