Rostov Region creates centre of distant learning for gifted children
With the aim to support gifted children living in remote areas, the Rostov Region is opening a centre for distant learning. Now, they form 10 study groups per 10 pupils each.
Every group will study one of ten subjects, namely, literature, astronomy, geography, arts, foreign language, basics of life safety, technology, physical culture, ecology and economy.
Each group will have a teacher; among them – eight doctors and two candidates of sciences, the Rostov News Agency reports with reference to Larissa Balina, Regional Minister of Education.
Classes will start in January next year. By December 2012, it is expected to increase the number of pupils up to 1000. From January 2013, it is planned to introduce psychology, culture studies and other disciplines, the website of the Ministry of Internal and Information Policy of the Rostov Region reports.
