European Parliament condemns assassination of Rafiq Tagi in Azerbaijan

The European Parliament has adopted a resolution condemning the murder of Rafiq Tagi in Azerbaijan and expressed their concern about the safety of Samir Sadagatoglu.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that unidentified criminals attacked Tagi and stabbed him in his neck, abdomen and shoulder. The writer was hospitalized in grave condition to the intensive care unit and underwent surgery. Then, his health condition somewhat stabilized; however on November 23 he died.

"Deputies of the European Parliament are resolutely condemning the assassination of Rafiq Tagi, a prominent Azerbaijani writer and journalist, and express their concerns about the safety of Samir Sadagatoglu, the editor of the 'Sanat' newspaper," the "NEWS.am" quotes the resolution of the European Parliament passed on December 15.
