Ex-Deputy Public prosecutor in Rostov region accused of taking a gross bribe
Deputy Public prosecutor of Novocherkassk, Rostov region, was detained for suspicion of bribery, regional Public prosecutor's office reported today.
The suspect who acted as Public prosecutor of Novocherkassk was detained on December, 15, by the personnel of security service of Directorate of Federal Security Service in Rostov region at the moment of receiving a bribe of one million rubles.
"Deputy Public prosecutor was discharged. Preliminary inquiry on the criminal case under the control of regional Public prosecutor's office is currently in process", web-site of Public prosecutor's office of Rostov region reports.
Investigation Department of Committee of Inquiry of Russia in Rostov region initiated a criminal case on the fact according to clauses "intermediation in bribery" and "bribe-taking" of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation, "Interfax" reports.
The position of the defendant or his attorneys is yet unknown.
