Committee of Inquiry: poisoning of the residents of Nalchik was caused by disrepair of the water intake
According to Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation in Kabardino-Balkaria, the case of enteric infective episode in Nalchik was a collapse of the chlorinator in the water intake of the town.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that over 200 people, 100 children among them, were taken to hospital in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria with a suspected enteric infection. Many people unofficially stated a connection between the poisoning and poor quality of tap water. However, according to the data of "Vodokanal-analyses" laboratory, the tap water was meeting all the demands of sanitary regulations and standards for drinking water.
Later State Sanitary Inspector of Russia Gennady Onishenko declared that the food poisoning of the residents of Nalchik was caused by viruses in drinking water.
