A bailiff in Chechnya accused of selling state property to a sum of 2,5 million rubles
An employee of the bailiff service in Chechnya will be brought before the court for inflicting a damage of 2,5 million rubles on the state. This was reported by Public prosecutor's office of the republic. He is accused of abuse of authority and forgery by an official.
"Public prosecutor's office of the republic initiated a criminal case against Alavdi Berzigov, employee of Directorate of Federal Bailiff Service (DFBS) in Chechnya who is accused of committing crimes stipulated by two clauses of the Criminal code of Russia", a representative of the office said.
"Through the fault of Berzigov who unlawfully sequestered the building of "Achkhoy-Martanovsky" state enterprise with the area of 400 square meters and then passed it over for realization as debtor's property, a damage to a sum of 2,5 million rubles was inflicted on the state", law enforcement bodies of Chechnya reported.
The bailiff is accused of not having checked out the owner's constitutive documents on the property put up to auction and also of issuing the respective ordinance on behalf of his colleague. A representative of public prosecutor's office pointed out that a criminal case of this kind against an employee of DFBS was initiated in Chechnya for the first time.
The criminal case against Berzigov was initiated according to clauses "forgery by an official" and "abuse of authority" of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation. He may be sentenced to a custody term of up to four years and deprivation of a right to hold certain offices for up to a five-years term. The position of the bailiff himself or his attorneys is unknown yet.
