In Moscow, court on Magmadovs' case hears Egle Kusaite's evidence
At today's session, the Moscow Regional Court has finished listening to testimony of Egle Kusaite on the case against Apti and Aishat Magmadov, the natives of Chechnya. Earlier, the defendants' lawyer filed a motion on the evidence of Egle Kusaite at the trial.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the court began listening to testimony of Egle Kusaite at the court session held on December 12. Besides, at the court session, the defence filed three motions, two of which were dismissed and consideration of the third motion was postponed.
According to Musa Khadisov, the defendants' lawyer, in one of the read-off protocols, Egle Kusaite stated that Apti and Aishat Magmadov knew that she was going to Moscow for suicide bombing, and in four other protocols of interrogation she gave divergent testimonies.
"In four protocols of interrogation, read off on our motion, Egle Kusaite admits that she has defamed Apti and Aishat Magmadov. No facts confirm Egle Kusaite's confessions. The case materials contain no letters with the text (according to investigators, Apti and Aishat Magmadov carried on an e-mail correspondence with Egle Kusaite, - note of the "Caucasian Knot"), she only mentions that in her testimony," the lawyer has clarified.
At present, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of prosecutors due to the fact that court sessions are held behind closed doors.
Let us remind you that Egle Kusaite retracted her statements, arguing that she gave her testimony under pressure and torture and having secured a promise that her Chechen acquaintances Apti and Aishat Magmadov would remain alive.
