In Makhachkala, law enforcement agents have just detained Idris Yusupov, a local resident, participation in a rally against kidnapping and arbitrariness of power agents, which was held in the capital of Dagestan on November 25. Idris Yusupov himself denied his participation in the rally.

"I was going home after prayer at the mosque. At that moment, policemen from the ROVD (District Interior Division) of the Soviet District of Makhachkala approached me. They told me that they detained me and that they received an order for detention from their chief, who was standing not far from us," said the detainee Idris Yusupov.

According to Idris Yusupov, the police officers told him that the reason for his detention was his participation at the rally against arbitrariness of power agents held on November 25 and that they would bring him "to the OVD (Interior Division) to complete a protocol on administrative violation with the subsequent direction of the case to the magistrate."

Idris Yusupov said that he had not participated in the rally. "I just shot video and made photographs for myself, and I did not directly participated in the protest action," he stated.

Officers on duty from the Soviet ROVD confirmed that Yusupov had been brought there. According to a police officer from the OVD, they follow the instructions of the chief, who is currently not at his working place.
