Court extends custody of suspect of murdering Yuri Budanov

The Presnya Court of Moscow has extended till February 26, 2012, the arrest of Magomed Suleimanov, accused of killing former colonel Yuri Budanov.

"The court has satisfied the motion of the investigation to extend Magomed Suleimanov's custody by another two months," said the press secretary of the court, as quoted by the Russian Agency of Legal and Judicial Information (RAPSI).

At the hearing, the prosecutor said that while at large, the accused may flee or threaten the witnesses.

In their turn, Suleimanov's advocates asked to replace his custody by home arrest or bail against 10 million roubles. The court decided to extend his detention till February 26, 2012, the "Rosbalt" reports.
