Rostov-on-Don: Ryazantsev, activist of "Left-Wing Front", sentenced to five days in jail
Vladislav Ryazantsev, one of the activists of the movement named "Left-Wing Front", who were detained in Rostov-on-Don at an unauthorized rally against election outcomes, was sentenced to five days in jail.
"The judge dismissed two of my motions on summoning the witnesses who were at the yesterday's rally and the policemen who detained me. I was given a defender - an on duty lawyer, who pronounced just formal 'two words'. Then, the judge accused me of interfering with the drive of communal cars. Allegedly, the police asked me to step aside, but I wouldn't listen. Therefore, I was detained and later convicted," Vladislav Ryazantsev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 6 in central Rostov-on-Don, the police dispersed an unsanctioned rally against the outcomes of the elections to the Russian State Duma. According to unofficial data, about a dozen of protesters were detained.
Currently, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of the judiciary and law enforcement bodies regarding the arrest of Ryazantsev. Meanwhile, the UVD (Interior Department) of Rostov-on-Don has noted that on December 8 at a press conference Anton Grachov, the first deputy head of the Chief Police Administration of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Rostov Region, plans to comment the events.
