Activists of "Left Front" detained by the police in Rostov-on-Don on the election day released

Activists of "Left Front" and a passerby detained in Rostov-on-Don on December, 4, were accused of disorderly conduct and then released. According to Vladislav Ryazantsev, coordinator of Rostov branch of the organization, the policemen did not oblige the detainees to come to court.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that in the evening of December, 4, the police personnel in Rostov-on-Don detained representatives of "Left Front" movement Vladislav Ryazantsev and Sergey Cherepovsky and a passerby Valery Liugaev frustrating the action against the election.

"We were recently released. We had no obligation of going to court, they probably did not want to forge the protocols. They just accused us according to clause 20.2 of the Code of administrative violations (disorderly conduct). It was evidently a detention only for the purpose of non-admission of the action of protest against the election", Ryazantsev said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

On December, 4, the personnel of Lenin district Department of Interior Affairs refused to specify the reason for the oppositionists' detention.

It should be reminded that on the day of parliamentary election, December, 4, the oppositionists in Rostov-on-Don were planning a people's gathering "People against illicit election". Supporters of an active boycott of parliamentary election intended to gather at 18:00 at the entrance of the Park named after M. Gorky and hold a people's gathering without banners or any party symbolics.
