In Kalmykia, new criminal case against Burulov, ex-Mayor of Elista, brought to court
The Investigatory Division of the city of Elista of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in the Republic of Kalmykia has completed the investigation into the criminal case against Radij Burulov, ex-Mayor of the city of Elista, charged of abuse of power and forgery.
Together with Radij Burulov, the former heads of the architectural and planning office and of the land regulation department of the Mayoralty are involved in the case. This was told by Arslan Churyumov, Senior Assistant to the ICRF in the Republic of Kalmykia, to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to investigators, during the period from October 2005 to February 2007, the Elista Mayor Radij Burulov "in order to seek advantage for his relatives and friends" unlawfully allocated municipal land plots for housing.
According to investigators, for this purpose Burulov attracted the director of the municipal unitary enterprise "Architectural and planning office" of the city of Elista and the head of land regulation department of the Mayoralty, who carried out measurements of land plots by developing drawings and schemes of the land plots and then prepared a draft resolution of the Mayoralty of Elista with false facts.
According to Arslan Churyumov, the investigators collected sufficient evidence, and in connection with that fact the criminal case with the approved bill of indictment was brought to the court for consideration on the merits.
Position of Radij Burulov on the new charges is still unavailable.
