Students of Kuban State University (KSU) report searches and detentions in their dormitories
On November, 1, in the dormitories of Krasnodar adjacent to the building of KSU searches were carried out. An eyewitness told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent that several persons were detained.
In particular, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent contacted one of the students living in the dormitories of KSU who told him what had happened.
“Several people wearing civilian attire carried out searches in our dormitories. A girl, Leila Daurbekova, was taken away from our dormitory. She is a Russian Moslem, she recently adopted Islam. In summer she got married and left. As soon as she came back people in civilian attire seized her. At the same time several young people, supposedly, from Kabardino-Balkaria, were seized in other dormitories”, the student said.
Leila Daurbekova was released several hours later. She said that she was taken to the police department and interrogated.
“They asked me why and how long before I adopted Islam, what my occupation was and some private questions. Nobody brought pressure upon me but everyone wanted to interrogate me. The interrogated me twice”, Leila Daurbekova said.
The “Caucasian Knot” has no comments yet concerning searches and detentions reported by students from enforcement agencies of Krasnodar. As of this moment, official web-sites of power ministries and administrative authorities of the region provided no comments on the issue.
Leila Daurbekova is a sister of the wife of Shamil Daurbekov who was kidnapped on September, 22, in the settlement of Dolakovo. Later it emerged that the missing man was kept in a police department and later released.
