Trial on the case of the organizer of a mass meeting going on in Dagestan
Today the police delivered Saadulla Abusupyanov, organizer of a meeting against kidnapping and arbitrary rule of members of the top brass, to magistrate's court for calling him to administrative account, lawyer Ziyavdin Uvaisov told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
“First my client was summoned to the Department of Interior Affairs of Sovietsky district of Makhachkala where they drew up a protocol of holding an action of protest in an unauthorized area, then Abusupyanov was taken to magistrate's court of Sovietsky district of Makhachkala”, Uvaisov said.
“In the Department of Interior Affairs he was told that the action was sanctioned in Rodopsky boulevard and its moving to Lenin street was illicit, therefore a protocol of infringement of the order of holding a meeting was drawn up. An explanatory note was taken from Saadulla and he was taken to the magistrate's court before which I am standing now”, the lawyer said.
He considers the policemen’s behaviour unlawful. “No sanction is necessary for holding a meeting, one has just to submit a notice which was done. Holding a meeting in front of the Russian Theatre by no means violates the law”, Uvaisov remarked.
In the standby unit of the Department of Interior Affairs of Sovietsky district of Makhachkala the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent received a corroboration of Abusupyanov’s being taken to the magistrate’s court. The personnel added that they were acting within legal boundaries.
