A meeting with a demand of honest election passed off in Sochi
On November, 28, members of non-governmental organization “People’s Council”, political parties “Fair Russia”, “Yabloko” and LDPR held a meeting in Sochi in order to draw public attention to the forthcoming election of State Duma.
All in all about 50 people came to the meeting in the public garden across the street from the railway station, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent reports.
According to Stanislav Merzliakov, organizer of the meeting, member of Sochi branch of LDPR, the main goal of the meeting was to “draw public attention to fair election of State Duma on December, 4”.
Beside political slogans and program statements, the participants of the action called for the citizens “to take part in the election manifesting their civic stand”.
Residents of the city resettled from the houses in the area where Olympic objects are being built came to the meeting. They shared information of the pickets planned for November, 30, and December, 1, near Mayor’s office.
Resident of Adler Alexey Kravets is the organizer of these actions. He states that his house is going to be pulled down, all the communications are already cut off and his family has to stay homeless. Alexey Kravets declared that he was going to hold public actions near Mayor’s office until his family’s right of dwelling is re-established.
A heavy rain that started in Sochi during the meeting interfered with the action of the victims of Olympic resettlement.
