CEC members of South Ossetia complain about threats
As reported by Bella Plieva, Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of South Ossetia, threats from unidentified persons arrive in the CEC. She believes that the threats are associated with the second round of the presidential election to take part tomorrow.
"Today, at five in the evening I received a call to my cell phone; and an unfamiliar male voice began threatening my family with execution. He said that if tomorrow we failed to tabulate votes in the honest manner and failed to make the right decision, he would cause harm to my family," said Plieva.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that other members of the CEC received similar threats; the calls came from different mobile numbers of the "OsTelekom", and in all cases threats were pronounced in male voice.
According to Ms Plieva, the caller did not specify exactly what CEC decision he considered right.
The head of the CEC has informed the local law enforcers about the received threats. "At present, we are all in the building of the CEC; the guards were provided to us," the "Interfax" quotes her as saying.
