Weather stops about 150 trucks with supplies for Armenia at Russian-Georgian border
Some 150-160 trucks with supplies for Armenia have gathered near the checkpoint "Verkhni Lars" in the Russian-Georgian border because of adverse weather conditions, said Manuk Vardanyan, Minister of Transport and Communications of Armenia.
"This year, unfortunately, winter came early, and the weather conditions have deteriorated. The checkpoint has mainly accumulated the vehicles moving in the direction of Armenia. We are working towards solving the problem," the "ARKA" quotes the Minister as saying.
According to his story, help is provided to the blocked cars.
In his turn, Arsen Kazaryan, the head of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia, said that if a day or two the weather failed to improve, the freights would be transported by a ferry, the "Panorama.am" reports.
