Participants of the rally against law enforcers' lawlessness promise to hold new protests in Dagestan

Villagers from Shamkhal, where on November 19 several residents were detained, were among the participants of the rally in Makhachkala "against arbitrariness of law enforcement bodies". The speakers urged residents of Dagestan to protect their rights, by overcoming their fear, and promised new protests.

The rally was held near the Avar Theatre; by its start, there were about 100 persons in the square. Kurban Magomedov, a resident of Shamkhal, who spoke at the rally, said that on November 19 his house was searched by unidentified people in masks.

Magomed Kartashov, the head of the "League of the Just", encouraged people to go out and defend their rights, by overcoming their fears. He also called on journalists to convey information without distortion, without presenting it "as demanded by certain structures or persons."

Gadjimagomed Makhmudov, a member of the association "Akhlyu Sunnah", urged power agents to give up "Gestapo methods" and threatened to sue the authorities and tell about their actions throughout Europe and the Arab world.

The organizers of the meeting stated that on November 25 the central square of Makhachkala would host a still more massive rally.
