In Armenia, Syunik Region Governor questioned on beating case
Suren Khachatryan, Governor of the Syunik Region of Armenia, was summoned to the Special Investigatory Service and questioned within the criminal case regarding the beating of entrepreneur Silva Ambartsumyan.
Let us remind you that the businesswoman Silva Ambartsumyan had accused the Governor Suren Khachatryan of beating her in the "Armenia Marriott" Hotel on November 14. Ms Ambartsumyan associates the attack on her with the situation around the ore mine "Lichkvaz-Teyi", claiming that Suren Khachatryan and Armen Movsisyan, Minister of Energy of Armenia, had unlawfully taken the ore mine away from her.
Suren Khachatryan was interrogated within the criminal case instituted on the fact of beating and a written application lodged by Silva Ambartsumyan.
The latter was offered to undergo a forensic examination, but she refused, having explained that "the Governor's blows left no traces, but I experienced pain." So far, no charges have been presented on the case, the "Armenia Today" reports.
The press office of the Governor denies the fact of beating of Silva Ambartsumyan, the "PanArmenian.net" reports.
